Thymalin Overview
Thymalin is a polypeptide bioregulator developed in the former Soviet Union and derived from the thymus gland of young calves. Research shows it can regulate gene expression and stimulate the thymus gland, which is crucial for producing T-lymphocytes, or T-cells. It is primarily known for its restoration of immune competence, anti-aging properties and regulating inflammation and pain. Thymalin is widely used in Russia and Eastern Europe to restore immune function. While not approved for medical use in the United States and designated for research, decades of study point to this peptide’s potential in immune restoration and anti-aging. Research is ongoing and the claimed benefits are still emerging.
