SNAP-8 is the trade name for acetyl octapeptide-3, a synthetic eight-amino-acid peptide used in cosmetics. It is designed to topically soften the look of expression lines and wrinkles by modulating the SNARE complex involved in neurotransmitter release. Snap 8 works well especially on the forehead, crow’s feet and frown lines. It’s not a drug and is typically used in topical formulas. It can be mixed in face creams or serums. Recommended cosmetic use levels are 3-10%.
